The City of Tampa is gearing up for the 2nd Annual HBCU “U-KNOW” Day, hosted by City Councilwoman Gwendolyn "Gwen" Henderson!
This event will take place on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Hanna City Center, located at 2555 East Hanna Avenue.
“U–KNOW” Day will culminate National Historically Black College and University (HBCU) Week being recognized this year from September 15-19 with theme: "Raising the Bar: Where Excellence and Opportunity Meet."
Community members are invited to attend wearing shirts or other paraphernalia representing their HBCU pride. The HBCU with the largest turnout will receive bragging rights as this year’s Best “U-KNOW.”
Music and opportunities to support local Black-owned food trucks and shops will be on site.
City recruiters and career exploration will also be present at the event.
