Join us for this special fundraising event to support the Dr. Walter L. Smith Library /Museum.  This is a major memorial birthday weekend celebrating the life and legacy of the late Dr. Walter L. Smith, international educator, freedom fighter, 7th President Emeritus of FAMU, and founder of this unique facility that has been a cornerstone of education for 16 years in the Tampa Bay Area.

This is the Grand RE-opening of the library facility and we will be celebrating for two days: Friday, May 13th at 6:30 pm, we will have an EVENING OF ORANGE & GREEN, an evening celebrating the life of Dr. Smith on his BIRTHDAY.  Admission is $10.  Enjoy our specialty orange or green 1887 Lemonades. Remember Dr. Smith’s love of dance, music, and good times!

On Saturday, May 14th we will have the long-awaited FISH, GRITS & BLACK HISTORY IV from 9 am-3 pm in the facility courtyard.  We will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and panel discussions on the most critical issues of the day, all while enjoying fish and grits!  Admission is $20 advance purchase/plate if you order on Eventbrite and $25 general admission/plate.
