Resident David E. Barclay, Ph.D., is an excellent storyteller who will share his family history while connecting to the challenge of acknowledging one’s ancestors, whether Confederate or Union. On Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m., his talk in TECO Hall at the History Center includes many notable Tampa names, including the Ashley and Jackson families.

Florida Conversations, the History Center’s long-running free lecture series, features diverse perspectives on Florida’s history. Attend in person or join via Zoom by registering in advance. Recorded lectures are available on the History Center’s YouTube channel.
