Mental Health Awareness Month May, 2023 was established to increase awareness of the importance of mental health and wellness and to celebrate the recovery from mental illness.

During May, the City of Tampa joins the national movement to raise awareness about mental health.  The City of Tampa will light up Old City Hall, the Tampa Riverwalk, and Downtown Bridges in the color of green on May 1, 2023, at sunset until sunrise on May 2, 2023, in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.

Mental health affects ALL of us.

May is an opportunity for all of us to come together and remember the inherent value we each hold — no matter our diagnosis, appearance, socioeconomic status, background or ability. We want every person out there to know, no matter what, you are inherently worthy of more than enough life, love and healing.

Now more than ever we need to find ways to stay connected with our community. No one should feel alone or without information, support and help they need.

Help is available.
