Velocity helps children explore the science of motion and makes it fun to learn about basic physics concepts. Children can roll and race golf balls on tracks, loops and hills to experiment with momentum, friction, gravity, acceleration, speed and distance.
Hands-on learning:
Move golf balls in and around activity stations that represent skate parks, half-pipes, roads and mountains and track the trajectory, velocity and momentum of moving objects
Watch as data visualization software captures multiple test runs and compare your results
The visit is great for a leisurely afternoon adventure. It's a compact and highly engaging exhibit with time to stroll outside and watch the beautiful Hillsborough river flow by. You might see “Mother Nature” at her best: we’ve seen alligators, manatees, turtles, hawks, and owls!
