Permitting for Tents / Covered Structures – Fast Pass

If a business wishes to put a tent, the business will need to contact Dave Jennings at the Permitting Department and obtain a Fast Pass Permit at no fee. The review for the Fast Pass will occur same day or within 24 hours. The permit will require some basic information showing a plan of the area where the tent will be installed, size of the tent, and other required information to meet fire code. Please refer to the Guidebook for specific requirements.

Please call 274-3100 and ask for Dave Jennings or e-mail him at Dave.Jennings@tampagov.net. Approvals will be sent by e-mail. Once a business has their Fast Pass permit, the business can erect the tent and call for an inspection to review adherence to Fire Code by the Fire Marshall. Inspections will occur the same day or next day.

Permission for Parklets – Fast Pass Process

If a business wishes to erect a parklet, the business will need to contact Danni Jorgenson at the Mobility Department and submit the proposed design for review and permission on a case-by-case basis. No fee required. The review for the submittal will occur the same day or next business day. The permit will require some basic information showing a plan of the area where the parklet will be installed, number of parking spaces, and other required information to meet fire code.
