Construction at Tampa Convention Center in Downtown Tampa is making significant progress.

The construction company contracted for the project, Skanska, has finished installing new, ADA accessible ramps on the Tampa Riverwalk. These ramps increase access for people walking, running, or biking along the Riverwalk in front of Tampa Convention Center.

Skanska is also completing waterproofing of the exterior walls on the new façade of Tampa Convention Center.

The project is on track to be finished in late June 2023.

The construction is a part of a Capital Improvement Project, the largest renovation project in history for Tampa Convention Center. The upgrades will improve the customer experience for event planners who bring their events to Tampa Convention Center and will increase efficiency and cost savings.

The project includes an expansion of Tampa Convention Center, adding new waterfront rooms to the venue that will be used as flexible meeting and event space. The rooms will feature outdoor space with a terrace overlooking the water.
