A portion of W Cass Street between N Boulevard and N Howard Avenue and N Willow Avenue between W Kennedy Boulevard and W Cypress Street will close beginning on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, as part of the Cypress Street Outfall Regional Stormwater Improvements Design-Build project. This project will be completed in multiple phases. During Phases 1B and 2A, a City contractor will be installing water mains, sanitary sewer, sidewalks and associated improvements on W Cass Street from N Willow Avenue to N Rome Avenue. The project also includes a signalization upgrade at the intersection of W Cass Street and N Willow Avenue.
Phase 1A construction is ongoing. W Cass Street between N Boulevard and N Willow Avenue closed on August 27, 2019 and will reopen to traffic by July 31, 2020, weather permitting.
Phase 1B, which includes the construction at the W Cass Street intersection at N Willow Avenue, will close at 9 am on February 11, 2020. Phase 1B is anticipated to reopen to traffic by July 31, 2020, weather permitting.
Phase 2A, which includes the construction on W Cass Street from N Willow Avenue to N Rome Avenue, will also close at 9 am on February 11, 2020. Phase 2A is anticipated to reopen to traffic October 31, 2020, weather permitting.
Sidewalks on the north and south sides of W Cass Street from N Boulevard through N Willow Avenue and on the south side of W Cass Street from N Willow Avenue to N Rome Avenue will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times via signage to other sidewalks in the area.
After the completion of Phases 1A, 1B, and 2A, future phases include closures on N Rome Avenue between W Cass Street and W Kennedy Boulevard and on W Gray Street between N Rome Avenue and N Tampania Avenue.
