Construction at Tampa Convention Center in Downtown Tampa is moving forward quickly, as the center nears completion of its largest renovation project in history. The $38 million Capital Improvements Project features a new addition to the Tampa Convention Center, which includes 18 new waterfront meeting rooms over the Tampa Riverwalk.
The project also includes upgrades to the Tampa Riverwalk outside of the Tampa Convention Center, such as new ADA ramps and environmentally-friendly LED lighting.
The construction team is currently installing a metal ceiling above the Tampa Riverwalk and adding waterproofing materials. They are completing the framing of the new meeting rooms off the West Hall of the Tampa Convention Center, and will next add drywall, ceilings, and sprinkler piping.
