A portion of Channelside Drive between S Meridian Avenue and S Jefferson Street and S Meridian Avenue between E Cumberland Avenue and Channelside Drive will close beginning on Monday, August 10, 2020 for road construction. A City contractor will make improvements to the existing handicap ramps on the northwest corner of Channelside Drive and S Meridian Avenue. The construction includes paving the greenway trail on the west side of S Meridian Avenue between E Cumberland Avenue and Channelside Drive. The contractor will also adjust the existing utilities on the northwest corner of Channelside Drive and S Meridian Avenue for future traffic signal modifications.
One (1) westbound lane on Channelside Drive between S Meridian Avenue and Water Street (formerly Old Water Street) and one (1) southbound lane on S Meridian Avenue between E Cumberland Avenue and Channelside Drive will close at 9 am on August 10, 2020.
One (1) westbound lane on Channelside Drive between S Meridian Avenue and Water Street and two (2) southbound lanes on S Meridian Avenue between E Cumberland Avenue and Channelside Drive will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.
All lanes on Channelside Drive and S Meridian Avenue will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, September 11, 2020, weather permitting.
The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
