Temporary Lane Closures on N Himes Avenue to begin December 7, 2020 for Road Construction

A portion of N Himes Avenue between W Columbus Drive and W Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard will close daily and nightly beginning on Monday, December 7, 2020 for road construction.  A City contractor will be milling, resurfacing, and installing concrete improvements on N Himes Avenue between W Columbus Drive and W Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard.

One (1) northbound lane and one (1) southbound lane on N Himes Avenue between W Columbus Drive and W Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard will close daily between 9 am and 4 pm and nightly between 7 pm and 6 am beginning on December 7, 2020.

At least one (1) northbound lane and one (1) southbound lane on N Himes Avenue between W Columbus Drive and W Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard will be maintained at all times, with delays.

The sidewalks within the work areas will be closed during construction.  Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks in the area via signage.

Nightly lane closures on N Himes Avenue between W Columbus Drive and W Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard will be complete by 6 am on Thursday, December 31, 2020, weather permitting.

All lanes on N Himes Avenue between W Columbus Drive and W Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Sunday, January 31, 2021, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

Northbound and southbound motorists can use N Dale Mabry Highway between W Columbus Drive and W Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, in lieu of N Himes Avenue.
