A portion of S Nebraska Avenue between Channelside Drive and E Whiting Street and E Cumberland Avenue between S Nebraska Avenue and S Jefferson Street/E Brorein Street will close on beginning on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from 9 pm to 5 am the next morning for road construction. A city contractor will be removing conflicting road striping from the S Nebraska Avenue and E Cumberland Avenue intersection. This work will be done in two phases.
During phase 1, the west northbound lane on S Nebraska Avenue between Channelside Drive and E Cumberland Avenue and the south westbound lane on E Cumberland Avenue between S Nebraska Avenue and S Jefferson Street/E Brorein Street will close at 9 pm on May 26, 2020.
Phase 2 will begin immediately upon completion of phase 1. During phase 2, the east northbound lane on S Nebraska Avenue between Channelside Drive and E Cumberland Avenue and the north westbound lane on E Cumberland Avenue between S Nebraska Avenue and S Jefferson Street/E Brorein Street will close.
One (1) northbound lane on S Nebraska Avenue between Channelside Drive and E Cumberland Avenue and one (1) westbound lane on E Cumberland Avenue between S Nebraska Avenue and S Jefferson Street/E Brorein Street will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.
All lanes on S Nebraska Avenue between Channelside Drive and E Cumberland Avenue and all lanes on E Cumberland Avenue between S Nebraska Avenue and S Jefferson Street/E Brorein Street will reopen to traffic by 5 am on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, weather permitting.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid congestion.
