A portion of E Osborne Avenue between N 34th Street and N 40th Street and N 34th Street between E Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and E Osbourne Avenue will close beginning on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, for utility construction. A City contractor will be relocating water lines on E Osborne Avenue between N 34th Street and N 35th Street and on N 34th Street between E Curtis Street and E Osbourne Avenue in conjunction with the new roundabout construction at the E Osborne Avenue intersection at N 34th Street.
E Osborne Avenue between N 34th Street and N 35th Street will close at 9 am on May 13, 2020. Construction is expected to take about 1 week.
After construction is completed on E Osbourne Avenue and reopened, the northbound lane on N 34th Street between E Palifox Street and E Osborne Avenue will close. Southbound traffic on N 34th Street will be maintained at all times during construction.
Sidewalks in the work areas will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area or by flagmen at all times.
All lanes on E Osborne Avenue and N 34th Street will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, weather permitting.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
Eastbound and westbound motorists can use E Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard or E Hillsborough Avenue between N 34th Street and N 40th Street in lieu of E Osborne Avenue.
Northbound motorists can use N 22nd Street or N 40th Street between E Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and E Osbourne Avenue in lieu of N 34th Street.
