A portion of W Tyler Street between N Ashley Drive and W Cass Street and N WC Macinnes Place between W Fortune Street and W Tyler Street will close beginning at 9 am on Monday, October 19, 2020 for road construction. A private contractor is realigning W Tyler Street and W Cass Street, as part of the AER development project. The road construction is being completed in three (3) phases. Access to the Straz Performing Arts Center drop-off entrance will be available at all times during construction.
Phase 1 is completed. Phase 2 which includes the realignment of W Tyler Street between N WC Macinnes Place and W Cass Street is scheduled to be completed by 4 pm on Friday, October 16, 2020, weather permitting. Phase 3 construction will begin immediately upon the completion of the Phase 2 work.
During Phase 3, the intersection of W Tyler Street and N WC Macinnes Place will close at 9 am on October 19, 2020. In addition to intersection improvements, the contractor will extend/build N WC Macinnes Place between W Tyler Street and W Cass Street. Access to the Straz Performing Arts Center drop-off entrance will be available from W Cass Street.
The entire project is scheduled to be completed by 4 pm on Friday, November 20, 2020, weather permitting.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
