Tampa, FL (July 10, 2020) – A portion of N Florida Avenue between E Jackson Street and E Kennedy Boulevard and E Jackson Street between N Franklin Street and N Florida Avenue will close on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, for building construction. A private contractor will stage a crane on N Florida Avenue between E Jackson Street and E Kennedy Boulevard to disassemble the tower crane on the new hotel.
One (1) lane on N Florida Avenue between E Whiting Street and E Washington Street, two (2) lanes on N Florida Avenue between E Washington Street and E Jackson Street, four (4) lanes on N Florida Avenue between E Jackson Street and E Kennedy Boulevard and the eastbound left turn lane on E Jackson Street between N Franklin Street and N Florida Avenue will close at 6 pm on July 22, 2020.
Sidewalks in the work areas will be closed during the construction. Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks in the area with signage.
All lanes on N Florida Avenue between E Jackson Street and E Kennedy Boulevard and E Jackson Street between N Franklin Street and N Florida Avenue will reopen to traffic by 5 am on Monday, July 27, 2020, weather permitting.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
