Beginning 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022, North Highland Avenue will be closed from West Frierson Avenue to West Haya Street for wastewater and drinking water utility construction. North Highland Avenue will be closed to southbound traffic at Hillsborough Avenue. Motorists will be detoured to North Florida Avenue and Violet Street to travel southbound.
North Highland Avenue between West Frierson Avenue and West Haya Street will be open to traffic by 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2022, weather permitting.
The sidewalks in the work area will be closed during construction. Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks with signage.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes and follow posted detours to avoid traffic congestion.
