On October 24 at 9 am, a department contractor will close the southbound and center lanes on North Blvd between W Martin Luther King Jr Blvd and W Alfred Street to begin an emergency project to replace an inoperable manhole. Southbound traffic on North Blvd will be open for local traffic and emergency vehicles only. Non-local southbound traffic will be detoured to Tampa Street. Signage and traffic control devices will be in place to assist with rerouting and traffic flow. Motorists are advised to consider alternate routes and use caution when driving in the area. Safe access will be maintained for residences and businesses in the area.
Completion of this work with a return to normal traffic patterns is expected no later than 5 pm on November 24. A high-resolution map of the work area and recommended detour routes is embedded below. Work schedules are contingent upon weather conditions.
