Temporary Lane Closure on W Gandy Boulevard to begin January 5, 2021 for Site Improvements

A portion of W Gandy Boulevard between S Himes Avenue and S MacDill Avenue will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 for site improvements.  A private contractor will be installing driveway aprons and sidewalks on the south side of W Gandy Boulevard between S Sheridan Road and S 6th Street.  One (1) eastbound lane on W Gandy Boulevard between S Sheridan Road and S 6th Street will close at 9 am beginning on January 5, 2021.

One (1) lane of eastbound traffic on W Gandy Boulevard between S Sheridan Road and S 6th Street will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

The sidewalk in work area will be closed during construction.  Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks in the area with signage.

All lanes on W Gandy Boulevard between S Sheridan Road and S 6th Street will be open by 4 pm on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

Eastbound motorists can use W Euclid Avenue or Interbay Boulevard between S Himes Avenue and S MacDill Avenue, in lieu of W Gandy Boulevard.

Eastbound trucks can use W Bay to Bay Boulevard or Interbay Boulevard between S Dale Mabry Highway and S MacDill Avenue, in lieu of W Gandy Boulevard.
