Temporary Lane Closure on N 40th Street to begin April 26th, 2021 for Utility Construction

A portion of N 40th Street between E Busch Boulevard and E Yukon Street will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Monday, April 26, 2021, for utility construction. A TECO contractor will be installing a power pole and electric conduit on the west side of N 40th Street at E Humphrey Street. One (1) southbound lane on N 40th Street between E Hill Crest Circle and E Yukon Street will close at 9 am beginning on April 26, 2021.

One (1) southbound lane on N 40th Street between E Hill Crest Circle and E Yukon Street will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

During a portion of the work, all southbound and northbound lanes on N 40th Street at the E Humphrey Street intersection will close for a 5-minute duration in order to remove overhead wires across N 40th Street.

Sidewalks in the work area will be closed during construction. Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks with signage.

It is anticipated that all lanes on 40th Street between E Hill Crest Circle and E Yukon Street will open to traffic by 4 pm on Monday, July 26, 2021, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.

Southbound motorists can use N 30th Street between E Busch Boulevard and E Yukon Street, in lieu of N 40th Street.

Southbound trucks can use N Nebraska Avenue between E Busch Boulevard and E Hillsborough Avenue, in lieu of N 40th Street.
