Temporary Lane Closure N McKinley Drive August 3, 2021 for Utility Construction

A portion of N McKinley Drive between E Fowler Avenue and E Bougainvillea Avenue will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, for utility construction.  A TECO contractor will be removing and replacing four transmission poles on the west side of N McKinley Drive to accommodate the installation of a new pedestrian bridge across N McKinley Drive for Moffitt Cancer Center.

One (1) southbound lane on N McKinley Drive between E Fowler Avenue and E Bougainvillea Avenue will close at 9 am beginning on August 3, 2021.

One (1) southbound lane on N McKinley Drive between E Fowler Avenue and E Bougainvillea Avenue will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

Sidewalks within the work area will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times via signage to other sidewalks in the area.

It is anticipated that all lanes on N McKinley Drive between E Fowler Avenue and E Bougainvillea Avenue will be open by 4 pm on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, weather permitting. 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid congestion. 

Southbound motorists can use N 30th Street or N 46th Street between E Fowler Avenue and E Bougainvillea Avenue in lieu of N McKinley Drive.

Southbound trucks can use N 30th Street or N 56th Street between E Fowler Avenue and E Bougainvillea Avenue or E Busch Boulevard, respectively, in lieu of N McKinley Drive.
