Temporary Lane Closure N Rome Avenue to begin April 12, 2021 for Utility Construction

A portion of the N Rome Avenue between W Columbus Drive and W Main Street will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Monday, April 12, 2021 for utility construction. A utility contractor will be installing a small wireless facility and associated utilities on the west side of N Rome Avenue between W Saint Louis Street and W Saint John Street. The southbound lane on N Rome Avenue between W Saint Louis Street and W Saint John Street will close beginning at 9 am on April 12, 2021.

Southbound and northbound traffic will be intermittently maintained on the east side of N Rome Avenue between W Saint Louis Street and W Saint John Street at all times during construction, with delays.

The sidewalk within the work areas will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other available sidewalks at all times during construction.

All lanes on N Rome Avenue between W Saint Louis Street and W Saint John Street will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Monday, April 26, 2021, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorist use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion. 

Southbound and northbound motorists can use N Armenia Avenue/N Howard Avenue or N Boulevard between W Columbus Drive and W Main Street in lieu of N Rome Avenue.
