Temporary Lane Closure S Himes Avenue to begin March 3, 2021 for Utility Construction

A portion of S Himes Avenue between S Frankland Road/W San Miguel N Street and W Bay to Bay Boulevard will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 for utility construction.  A private contractor will be installing a small wireless facility and electrical conduit on the west side of S Himes Avenue between W San Jose Street and W Palmira Avenue.

The southbound  lane on S Himes Avenue between S Frankland Road/W San Miguel N Street and W Palmira Avenue will close at 9 am on March 3, 2021. 

Southbound and northbound traffic will be intermittently maintained on the east side of S Himes Avenue between S Frankland Road/W San Miguel N Street and W Palmira Avenue at all times during construction, with delays.

Sidewalks in the work area will be closed during construction.  Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks with signage.

All lanes on S Himes Avenue between S Frankland Road/W San Miguel N Street and W Palmira Avenue will reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Monday, March 29, 2021, weather permitting. 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid congestion.

Southbound and northbound motorists can use S Dale Mabry Highway between W Neptune Street and W Bay to Bay Boulevard, in lieu of S Himes Avenue.
