Temporary Lane Closure S Howard Avenue to begin January 18, 2021 for Utility Construction

A portion of S Howard Avenue between W Azeele Street and W Cleveland Street will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Monday, January 18, 2021 for utility construction.  A utility contractor will be installing a small wireless facility on the west side and electrical conduit on the east side of S Howard Avenue between W Platt Street and W Cleveland Street.

One (1) northbound lane on S Howard Avenue between W Azeele Street and W Cleveland Street will close at 9 am beginning on January 18, 2021.

One (1) northbound lane on S Howard Avenue between W Azeele Street and W Cleveland Street will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

Sidewalks within the work area will be closed during construction.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.

All lanes on S Howard Avenue between W Azeele Street and W Cleveland Street will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, January 22, 2021, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion. 

Northbound motorists can use S MacDill Avenue or S Boulevard between W Swann Avenue and W Cleveland Street, in lieu of S Howard Avenue.

Northbound trucks can use S MacDill Avenue or S Boulevard between W Platt Street and W Cleveland Street/W Kennedy Boulevard, in lieu of S Howard Avenue.
