A portion of S MacDill Avenue between W Gandy Boulevard and W Euclid Avenue will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Monday, December 21, 2020 for utility construction. A utility contractor will be installing a gas main on the east side of S MacDill Avenue at the intersection of W Coachman Avenue. The northbound lane on S MacDill Avenue between W Bayshore Court and W Alline Avenue will close at 9 am on December 21, 2020.
One (1) lane of northbound and southbound traffic will be intermittently maintained on the west side of S MacDill Avenue between W Bayshore Court and W Alline Avenue at all times during construction, with delays.
Sidewalks within the work areas will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.
It is anticipated that all lanes on S MacDill Avenue between W Bayshore Court and W Alline Avenue will reopen by 4 pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, weather permitting.
The City of Tampa recommends motorist to use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
Northbound and southbound motorists can use S Himes Avenue or Bayshore Boulevard between W Gandy Boulevard and W Euclid Avenue, in lieu of S MacDill Avenue.
Northbound and southbound trucks can use S Dale Mabry Highway between W Gandy Boulevard and W Euclid Avenue, in lieu of S MacDill Avenue.
