Temporary Lane Closure on S Sterling Avenue to begin September 7, 2021 for Utility Construction

A portion of S Sterling Avenue between W Morrison Avenue and W Neptune Street will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 for utility construction. A utility contractor will be installing a gas main on the west side of S Sterling Avenue between W Watrous Avenue and W Neptune Street. The southbound lane on S Sterling Avenue between W Watrous Avenue and W Neptune Street will close at 9 am on September 7, 2021.

Southbound and northbound traffic will be intermittently maintained on the east side of S Sterling Avenue between W Watrous Avenue and W Neptune Street at all times during construction, with delays.

All lanes on S Sterling Avenue Avenue between W Watrous Avenue and W Neptune Street will reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Tuesday, November, 2, 2021, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid congestion.

Southbound and northbound motorists can use S Himes Avenue or S Dale Mabry Highway between W Morrison Avenue and W Neptune Street, in lieu of S Sterling Avenue.
