Temporary Lane Closure on Sligh Avenue began on December 2, 2021 for Utility Construction

A portion of Sligh Avenue between N Habana Avenue and N Nebraska Avenue closed daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Thursday, December 2, 2021 for utility construction.   A utility contractor will install a communication conduit along Sligh Avenue between N Saint Peter Avenue and N Nebraska Avenue as part of the City of Tampa Traffic Signal Upgrade project.

One (1) eastbound lane on Sligh Avenue between N Saint Peter Avenue and N Nebraska Avenue closed at 9:00 am on December 2, 2021.

One (1) eastbound lane on Sligh Avenue between N Saint Peter Avenue and N Nebraska Avenue will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

The sidewalks in the area will be closed during construction.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area, during construction. 

All lanes on Sligh Avenue between N Saint Peter Avenue and N Nebraska Avenue will be open by 4 pm on Thursday, May 26, 2022, weather permitting.

The Citywide Tampa Traffic Signal Upgrade project is scheduled for completion in March of 2024.

Subsequent lane closures on Sligh Avenue between N Saint Peter Avenue and N Nebraska Avenue are expected to occur during the project timeframe.

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion. 

Eastbound motorists can use Waters Avenue or Hillsborough Avenue between N Armenia Avenue and N Nebraska Avenue, in lieu of E Sligh Avenue.
