Temporary Lane Closure on W Columbus Drive/E Broadway Avenue to begin December 21, 2021 for Utility Construction

A portion of W Columbus Drive/E Broadway Avenue between N 50th Street and Orient Road will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm and nightly from 6 pm to 6 am the following day beginning on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, for utility construction.  A utility contractor will be replacing the existing gas main on the south side of W Columbus Drive/E Broadway Avenue between N 57th Street and N 66th Street.

The eastbound lane on W Columbus Drive/E Broadway Avenue between N 56th Street and N 66th Street will close at 9 am on December 21, 2021.

Eastbound and westbound traffic will be intermittently maintained on the north side of W Columbus Drive/E Broadway Avenue between N 56th Street and N 66th Street, with delays.

The sidewalks within the work areas will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area during construction.

It is anticipated that all lanes on W Columbus Drive/E Broadway Avenue between N 56th Street and N 66th Street will be open by 4 pm on Thursday, April 21, 2022, weather permitting.

The City recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

Westbound and eastbound motorists can use Adamo Drive (SR 60) between N 50th Street and N Orient Road, in lieu of W Columbus Drive/E Broadway Avenue.
