Temporary Lane Closure on W Platt Street to begin November 8, 2021 for Utility Construction

A portion of W Platt Street between S Plant Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Monday, November 8, 2021 for utility construction.  A utility contractor will be installing a small wireless facility on the south side of W Platt Street between S Plant Avenue and S Parker Street and associated utilities on the north side of W Platt Street between S Parker Street and Bayshore Boulevard.

One (1) lane on W Platt Street between S Plant Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard will close at 9 am beginning on November 8, 2021. 

One (1) lane of traffic on W Platt Street between S Plant Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

The sidewalks within the work areas will be closed during construction.  Pedestrians will be detoured to other sidewalks in the area with signage.

It is anticipated that all lanes on W Platt Street between S Plant Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard will be open by 4 pm on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternative routes to avoid congestion.
