Temporary Lane Closure on W Platt Street to begin October 4th 2021 for Utility Construction

A portion of W Platt Street between South Boulevard and S Plant Avenue will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Monday, October 4, 2021 for utility construction.  A utility contractor will be installing a small wireless facility on the north side of W Platt Street between S Cedar Avenue and S Hyde Park Avenue.  One (1) eastbound lane on W Platt Street between S Magnolia Avenue and S Hyde Park Avenue will close at 9 am beginning on October 4, 2021. 

One (1) lane of thru traffic on W Platt Street between S Magnolia Avenue and S Hyde Park Avenue will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

Sidewalks in the work area will be closed during construction. Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks with signage.

It is anticipated that all lanes on W Platt Street between S Magnolia Avenue and S Hyde Park Avenue will be open by 4 pm on Friday, November 5, 2021, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternative routes to avoid congestion.
