A portion of Water Street (formerly Old Water Street) between S Morgan Street and Channelside Drive will close at 9 am beginning on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 for road construction. A City of Tampa contractor will be installing parking spaces, storm inlet, curb and sidewalk on the east side of Water Street between Tampa Bay History Center and Channelside Drive adjacent to 815 Water Street development.
The northbound right turn lane on Water Street between Tampa Bay History Center and Channelside Drive will close 9 am on February 10, 2021.
One (1) northbound lane and one (1) southbound on Water Street between Tampa Bay History Center and Channelside Drive will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays. Right turn movements from northbound Water Street to Channelside Drive will be allowed from the northbound left turn lane at the intersection of Channelside Drive.
Sidewalks in the construction area will be closed during the construction. Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks with signage.
All lanes on Water Street between S Morgan Street and Channelside Drive will open to traffic by 4 pm on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, weather permitting.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
