A portion of Water Street (formerly Old Water Street) between S Florida Avenue and Channelside Drive will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 for utility construction. A utility contractor will be installing a small wireless facility on the south side of Water Street between S Morgan Street and the Tampa Bay History Center.
One (1) eastbound lane on Water Street between S Florida Avenue and the Tampa Bay History Center will close at 9 am beginning on March 10, 2021.
One (1) eastbound lane on Water Street between S Morgan Street and Tampa Bay History Center will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.
Sidewalks in the construction area will be closed during the construction. Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks with signage.
All lanes on Water Street between S Florida Avenue and the Tampa Bay History Center will open to traffic by 4 pm on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, weather permitting.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
