Temporary Lane Closure on Water Street (formerly Old Water Street) to begin October 12, 2021 for Utility Construction

A portion of Water Street (formerly Old Water Street) between S Florida Avenue and Channelside Drive will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 for utility construction.  A utility contractor will be installing two (2) small wireless facilities and associated electrical facilities on the south side of Water Street between S Morgan Street and the Tampa Bay History Center.

One (1) eastbound lane on Water Street between S Florida Avenue and the Tampa Bay History Center will close at 9 am beginning on October 12, 2021. 

One (1) eastbound lane on Water Street between S Morgan Street and Tampa Bay History Center will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

Sidewalks in the construction area will be closed during the construction.  Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks with signage.

All lanes on Water Street between S Florida Avenue and the Tampa Bay History Center will open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, November 12, 2021, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
