A portion of Channelside Drive between S Jefferson Street and S Meridian Avenue/Beneficial Drive will close from 12:01 am to 6 am on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 for utility construction. A private contractor will be placing a crane on Channelside Drive between Water St (formerly Old Water Street) and S Meridian Avenue/Beneficial Drive to install street light poles on the south side of Channelside Drive for the new high-rise development.
Two (2) eastbound lanes on Channelside Drive between S Jefferson Street and S Meridian Avenue/Beneficial Drive will close at 12:01 am on February 9, 2021.
One (1) westbound lane will be maintained on Channelside Drive between S Meridian Avenue/Beneficial Drive and S Nebraska Avenue during construction with delays.
Sidewalks in the work area will be closed during construction. Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks with signage.
The eastbound lanes on Channelside Drive between S Jefferson Street and S Meridian Avenue/Beneficial Drive will reopen to traffic by 6 am on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, weather permitting.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use detour routes to avoid congestion.
