Temporary Lane Closures on E Cumberland Avenue to begin April 30th 2021 for Building Construction

A portion of E Cumberland Avenue between S Jefferson Street and S Meridian Avenue will close on Friday, April 30, 2021, for building construction.  A private contractor will stage a crane on E Cumberland Avenue between S Nebraska Avenue and Water Street to disassemble the tower crane on the new high-rise apartment building. 

The eastbound lane on E Cumberland Avenue between S Jefferson Street and S Meridian Avenue and one (1) westbound lane on E Cumberland Avenue between S Caesar Street and S Jefferson Street will close 9 am on Friday, April 30, 2021. 

One (1) westbound lane on E Cumberland Avenue between S Caesar Street and S Jefferson Street will remain open during construction.

Sidewalks within the work area will be closed.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times during construction.

All lanes on E Cumberland Avenue between S Jefferson Street and S Meridian Avenue will reopen to traffic by 5 am on Monday, May 3, 2021, weather permitting.    

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
