Temporary Lane Closures of E Floribraska Avenue and I-275 S Exit 46A Floribraska Ramp to begin February 14, 2022 for I-275 Road Maintenance

A portion of E Floribraska Avenue between N Florida Avenue/N Tampa Street and N Nebraska Avenue and I-275 S Exit 46A Floribraska Ramp/N Elmore Avenue between I-275 S and E Floribraska Avenue will close beginning on Monday, February 14, 2022, for the installation of drill shafts on the south side of E Floribraska Avenue as part of the FDOT I-275 E Floribraska Avenue to Hanna Avenue Widening Project. 

One (1) eastbound lane on E Floribraska Avenue between N Central Avenue and N Taliaferro Avenue and one (1) southbound lane on the I-275 S Exit 46A Floribraska Ramp/N Elmore Avenue between I-275 and E Floribraska Avenue will close at 9 am beginning on February 14, 2022.

One (1) eastbound lane on E Floribraska Avenue between N Central Avenue and N Taliaferro Avenue and one (1) southbound lane on the I-275 S Exit 46A Floribraska Ramp/N Elmore Avenue between I-275 and E Floribraska Avenue will be maintained at all times during the construction, with delays.

The sidewalk in the work area will be closed during construction.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area.

All lanes on E Floribraska Avenue between N Central Avenue and N Taliaferro Avenue and on the I-275 S Exit 46A Floribraska Ramp/N Elmore Avenue between I-275 and E Floribraska Avenue will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, March 11, 2022, weather permitting. It is anticipated that the entire I-275 Widening Project will be completed by Monday, April 28, 2025, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

Eastbound motorists can use E Columbus Drive or E Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between N Tampa Street/N Florida Avenue and N Nebraska Avenue, in lieu of E Floribraska Avenue.

Southbound motorists and trucks on I-275 can use I-275 S Exit 46B E Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard Ramp and E Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between I-275 and N Nebraska Avenue, in lieu of E Floribraska Avenue.
