A portion of Florida Avenue between E Brorein Street and E Jackson Street and E Washington Street between N Marion and N Florida Avenue will close at 7 pm on Thursday, March 4, 2021, for building construction. A private contractor will stage a crane on N Florida Avenue between E Washington Street and E Jackson Street to remove air condition equipment from the basement of the Tampa City Center building.
One (1) lane on S Florida Avenue between E Brorein Street and Whiting Street, two (2) lanes on N Florida Avenue between E Whiting Street and E Jackson Street and one (1) westbound lane on E Washington Street between N Marion and N Florida Avenue will close at 7 pm on March 4, 2021.
Two (2) lanes on S Florida Avenue between E Brorein Street and Whiting Street, one (1) lane on N Florida Avenue between E Whiting Street and E Jackson Street and one (1) westbound lane on E Washington Street between N Marion and N Florida Avenue will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.
Sidewalks within the work area will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.
All lanes on Florida Avenue between E Brorein Street and E Jackson Street and E Washington Street between N Marion and N Florida Avenue will reopen to traffic by 6 am on Friday, March 5, 2021, weather permitting.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
