Temporary Lane Closures on MacDill Avenue began on November 23, 2021 for Utility Construction

A portion of S MacDill Avenue between Interbay Boulevard and W El Prado Boulevard and MacDill Avenue between W Bay to Bay Boulevard and W Spruce Street closed daily from 9 am to 3 pm beginning on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 for utility construction.   A utility contractor will install communication conduit along the east side of MacDill Avenue from Interbay Boulevard to W Spruce Street as part of the City of Tampa Traffic Signal Upgrade project.

The northbound lane on S MacDill Avenue between Interbay Boulevard and W El Prado Boulevard closed beginning at 9 am on November 23, 2021.

Northbound and southbound traffic on S MacDill Avenue between Interbay Boulevard and W El Prado Boulevard will be intermittently maintained on the west side of S MacDill Avenue at all times during construction, with delays.

One (1) northbound lane on MacDill Avenue between W Barcelona Street and W Spruce Street also closed beginning at 9 am on November 23, 2021.

One (1) northbound lane on MacDill Avenue between W Barcelona Street and W Spruce Street will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

The sidewalks in the area will be closed during construction.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area, during construction. 

All lanes on MacDill Avenue between Interbay Boulevard and W Spruce Street will be open by 3 pm on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, weather permitting.

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion. 

Northbound and southbound motorists can use Dale Mabry Highway between Interbay Boulevard and W Spruce Street in lieu of MacDill Avenue.
