Temporary Lane Closures on N 40th Street to begin October 4, 2021 for Utility Construction

A portion of N 40th Street between E River Hills Drive and E Busch Boulevard will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Monday, October 4, 2021, for utility construction. A TECO contractor will be installing power poles and electric conduit on both sides of N 40th Street between E Seward Street and E Yukon Street.  One (1) northbound lane on N 40th Street between E Regnas Avenue and E Yukon Street and one (1) southbound lane on N 40th Street between E Yukon Street and E Seward Street will close at 9 am beginning on October 4, 2021.

One (1) northbound lane on N 40th Street between E Regnas Avenue and E Yukon Street and one (1) southbound lane on N 40th Street between E Yukon Street and E Seward Street will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

Sidewalks in the work area will be closed during construction. Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks with signage.

It is anticipated that all lanes on N 40th Street between E Regnas Avenue and E Yukon Street will open to traffic by 4 pm on Monday, December 27, 2021, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.

Northbound and southbound motorists can use N 46th Street between E River Hills Drive and E Busch Boulevard, in lieu of N 40th Street.

Northbound and southbound trucks can use N Nebraska Avenue or N 56th Street between E Hillsborough Avenue and E Busch Boulevard, in lieu of N 40th Street.
