Temporary Lane Closures N Lois Avenue and W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to begin January 12, 2021 for Utility Construction

A portion of N Lois Avenue between W Hillsborough Avenue and W Tampa Bay Boulevard and a portion of W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between N Dale Mabry Highway and N Lois Avenue will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. A utility contractor will be installing communication conduit on the west side of N Lois Avenue between W Hillsborough Avenue and W Tampa Bay Boulevard. The southbound lane on N Lois Avenue between W Hillsborough Avenue and W Tampa Bay Boulevard and the westbound left turn lane on W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between N Dale Mabry Highway and N Lois Avenue will close at 9 am beginning on January 12, 2021.

 

Northbound traffic between W Hillsborough Avenue and W Tampa Bay Boulevard will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

 

Sidewalks within the work area will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times.

 

It is anticipated that all lanes on N Lois Avenue between W Hillsborough Avenue and W Tampa Bay Boulevard and on W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between N Dale Mabry Highway and N Lois Avenue will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, January 22, 2021, weather permitting.

 

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

 

Southbound motorists and trucks can use N Dale Mabry Highway or Air Cargo Road between W Hillsborough Avenue and W Tampa Bay Boulevard, in lieu of N Lois Avenue.

 

Westbound motorists and trucks can use N Dale Mabry Highway between W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and W Tampa Bay Boulevard, in lieu of N Lois Avenue.
