Temporary Lane Closures of S. Himes Ave. to begin November 3, 2021 for Roadway Construction

S. Himes Ave between the Lee Roy Selmon Overpass. to W. Wallcraft Ave. and S. Himes Ave. between Gandy Blvd to Paxton Ave. will have temporary lane closures from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Wednesday 11/3/21, for roadway resurfacing.  The City of Tampa’s  Mobility Operations Division will be resurfacing the roadway on S. Himes Ave. between the Lee Roy Selmon Overpass. to W. Wallcraft Ave. and S. Himes Ave. between Gandy Blvd to Paxton Ave.  One (1) Southbound lane on S Himes Ave. between the Lee Roy Selmon Overpass. to W. Wallcraft Ave. and S. Himes Ave. between Gandy Blvd to Paxton Ave. and one (1) Northbound lane on S. Himes Ave. between the Lee Roy Selmon Overpass. to W. Wallcraft Ave. and S. Himes Ave. between Gandy Blvd to Paxton Ave. will close beginning at 9 am on November 3, 2021.

One (1) southbound lane on S. Himes Ave. and the Lee Roy Selmon Overpass. to W. Wallcraft Ave. and S. Himes Ave. between Gandy Blvd to Paxton Ave. and (1) Northbound lane on S. Himes Ave. between the Lee Roy Selmon Overpass. to W. Wallcraft Ave. and S. Himes Ave. between Gandy Blvd to Paxton Ave. will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays. Flaggers will be used to direct traffic around construction area.

The sidewalks in the work areas will be open during construction. 

All lanes on S. Himes Ave. between the Lee Roy Selmon Overpass. to W. Wallcraft Ave. and S. Himes Ave. between Gandy Blvd to Paxton Ave. will reopen to traffic by 4 pm daily. The project should be completed by Tuesday 11/30/21 weather permitting.

The City recommends using alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.
