Temporary Lane Closures on S Manhattan Avenue began on December 6, 2021 for Signal Construction

A portion of S Manhattan Avenue between Interbay Boulevard and W Henderson Boulevard/W San Jose Street closed daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Monday, December 6, 2021 for signal construction.   A city contractor will install communication conduit along S Manhattan Avenue from W Iowa Avenue to W Henderson Boulevard/W San Jose Street as part of the City of Tampa Traffic Signal Upgrade project.

One (1) northbound lane on S Manhattan Avenue between W McElroy Avenue and W Euclid Avenue closed beginning at 9 am on December 6, 2021.

One (1) northbound lane on S Manhattan Avenue between W McElroy Avenue and W Euclid Avenue will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

The sidewalks in the area will be closed during construction.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area, during construction. 

All lanes on S Manhattan Avenue between W McElroy Avenue and W Euclid Avenue will be open by 4 pm on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, weather permitting.

The Citywide Tampa Traffic Signal Upgrade project is scheduled for completion in March of 2024.

Subsequent lane closures on S Manhattan Avenue between Interbay Boulevard and W Henderson Boulevard/W San Jose Street are expected to occur during the project timeframe.

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion. 

Northbound motorists can use S Dale Mabry Highway between Interbay Boulevard and W Euclid Avenue in lieu of S Manhattan Avenue.

Northbound trucks can use S Dale Mabry Highway between Gandy Boulevard and W Bay to Bay Boulevard in lieu of S Manhattan Avenue.
