Temporary Lane Closures S West Shore Boulevard to begin January 3, 2022 for Site Development

A portion of S West Shore Boulevard between W Euclid Avenue and W Gandy Boulevard will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Monday, January 3, 2022 for The Isles at Old Tampa Bay site development project.  A private contractor will be pruning and removing trees, installing utilities and road improvements on S West Shore Boulevard between W Flamingo Road and W Coachman Avenue.  Improvements include the installation of a new traffic signal at the intersection of S West Shore Boulevard and W Fair Oaks Avenue with a southbound right turn lane and a northbound left turn lane.

One lane on S West Shore Boulevard between W Alline Avenue and W Wallcraft Avenue will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on January 3, 2022.

Northbound and southbound traffic will be intermittently maintained in one lane on S West Shore Boulevard between W Alline Avenue and W Wallcraft Avenue at all times, with delays.

Access to W Fair Oaks Avenue between S West Shore Boulevard and W Chapin Avenue will be restricted during portions of the construction. 

The sidewalks within the work areas will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area during construction.

All lanes on S West Shore Boulevard between W Flamingo Road and W Coachman Avenue are scheduled to be open to traffic by 4 pm on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, weather permitting.  

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid congestion.  Northbound and southbound motorists can use S Dale Mabry Highway between W Kennedy Boulevard and W Gandy Boulevard, in lieu of S West Shore Boulevard.
