Temporary Lane Closures W Cypress Street to begin July 6, 2021 for Utility Construction

A portion of W Cypress Street between N West Shore Boulevard and W LaSalle Street/Airport-Cypress Ramp will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 for utility construction. A utility contractor will be installing two (2) small wireless facilities and associated electrical conduits on W Cypress Street between I-275 W Frontage Road and N Reo Street. One (1) westbound lane and one (1) eastbound lane on W Cypress Street between N O’Brien Street and N Reo Street will close at 9 am beginning on July 6, 2021.

One (1) westbound lane and one (1) eastbound lane on W Cypress Street between N O’Brien Street and N Reo Street will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

The sidewalk in the work areas will be closed during the construction.  Pedestrians will be detoured around the work area with signage.

All lanes on W Cypress Street between N O’Brien Street and N Reo Street will be open by 4 pm on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

The City of Tampa recommends that westbound and eastbound motorists traveling on W Cypress Street between N West Shore Boulevard and W LaSalle Street/Airport-Cypress Ramp allow more time to drive between July 6, 2021 through August 24, 2021.
