Temporary Lane Closures on W El Prado Boulevard to begin May 3rd 2021 for Utility Construction

A portion of W El Prado Boulevard between S MacDill Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard will close daily from 9 am to 4 pm beginning on Monday, May 3, 2021 for utility construction.  A utility contractor will be installing gas mains and service lines along W El Prado Boulevard. The work is to be completed in two phases.

During Phase 1, the eastbound and westbound lanes on W El Prado Boulevard between S MacDill Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard will close intermittently beginning at 9 am on May 3, 2021.

Eastbound and westbound traffic will be intermittently maintained on W El Prado Boulevard between S MacDill Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard at all times during construction, with delays.

During Phase 2, the eastbound lane on W El Prado Boulevard between S MacDill Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard will be closed.

Westbound traffic will be maintained on W El Prado Boulevard between Bayshore Boulevard and S MacDill Avenue at all times during construction, with delays.

Sidewalks in the work area will be closed.  Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times via signage to other sidewalks in the area.

All lanes on W El Prado Boulevard between S MacDill Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard will be open by 4 pm on Sunday, August 22, 2021, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorist use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion. 

Eastbound and westbound motorists can use W Euclid Avenue or Bay to Bay Boulevard between S MacDill Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard, in lieu of W El Prado Boulevard.
