Temporary Lane/Road Closures on Nuccio Parkway, E 7th Avenue and Channelside Drive to begin February 8th 2021 for Road Construction

A portion of the Nuccio Parkway between N Nebraska Avenue and E Palm Avenue, E 7th Avenue between and N Nebraska Avenue and N 15th Street and Channelside Drive between the Nuccio Parkway and Channelside Drive/E 4th Avenue round-about will close at 9 am beginning on Monday, February 8, 2021 for road construction.  A City of Tampa contractor will be installing road improvements including a cycle track on the east side of the Nuccio Parkway between N Nebraska Avenue and E 7th Avenue as part of the Green Spine Cycle Track project. The construction will be accomplished in three (3) phases.

In Phase 1, one (1) northbound lane on the Nuccio Parkway between N Nebraska Avenue and E Palm Avenue will close at 9 am on February 8, 2021.  One (1) lane of northbound traffic on Nuccio Parkway between N Nebraska Avenue and E Palm Avenue will be maintained on the east side of Nuccio Parkway at all times during this phase, with delays. Westbound and eastbound movements on E 7th Avenue at Nuccio Parkway intersection and southbound to eastbound movements from Nuccio Parkway to Channelside Drive will be prohibited during a portion of this phase.

The sidewalks within the work areas will be closed during construction.  Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks with signage.

Phase 1 is expected to be completed by 4 pm on Friday, September 10, 2021, weather permitting.

Phase 2 will commence immediately after the completion of Phase 1 construction and will include the following:

  • One (1) northbound lane on Nuccio Parkway between N Nebraska Avenue and E 7th Avenue will close.

Phase 3 (final milling, paving and striping) will commence immediately after the completion of Phase 2 construction and will include the following:

  • One (1) southbound lane and one (1) northbound lane on Nuccio Parkway between N Nebraska Avenue and E 7th Avenue will be closed.

The entire project is scheduled to be completed by 3:30 pm on Thursday, February 24, 2022, weather permitting.

There will be no construction during Special Events in YBOR City.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
