Temporary Road Closure on Channelside Drive and S Nebraska Avenue to begin March 22nd 2021 for Road Construction

A portion of Channelside Drive between S Jefferson Street and Water Street (formerly Old Water Street) and S Nebraska Avenue between Channelside Drive and E Cumberland Avenue will close at 9 am on Monday, March 22, 2021 for road construction.  A City of Tampa contractor will reconstruct Channelside Drive between S Jefferson Street and Water Street and S Nebraska Avenue between Channelside Drive and E Cumberland Avenue.  Road construction includes enhanced crosswalks, on-street parking pavers and landscaping on Channelside Drive and S Nebraska Avenue.  A new traffic signal will also be installed at the intersection of Channelside Drive and S Nebraska Avenue.

Sidewalks within the work area will be closed.  Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times during construction.

All lanes on Channelside Drive between Jefferson Street and Water Street and S Nebraska Avenue between Channelside Drive and E Cumberland Avenue will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, July 30, 2021, weather permitting.     

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
