A portion of N 11th Street between E Whiting Street and E Kennedy Boulevard and E Washington Street between N Meridian Avenue and N 12th Street will close beginning on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 for road construction. A City contractor has been installing utilities and other road improvements along N 11th Street between E Whiting Street and E Kennedy Boulevard, including the intersection of N 11th Street and E Washington Street. The work will be completed in multi-phases in order to maintain access to adjacent property owners.
Beginning at 9 am on May 18, 2022, a portion of E Washington Street between N Meridian Avenue and N 12th Street will close as the contractor continues to move north on N 11th Street installing utilities. One (1) southbound to westbound turning movement at the intersection of N 11th Street and E Washington Street will be allowed during construction.
Sidewalks within the work area will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times via signage to other sidewalks in the area.
All lanes on N 11th Street between E Whiting Street and E Washington Street and on E Washington Street between N Meridian Avenue and N 12th Street will reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, September 2, 2022, weather permitting.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
