Temporary Road Closure S MacDill Avenue to begin April 19th 2021 for Utility Construction

A portion of S MacDill Avenue between W Swann Avenue and W Kennedy Boulevard and a portion of N MacDill Avenue between W Cypress Street and W Kennedy Boulevard will close at 9 am beginning on Monday, April 19, 2021 for utility construction.  A private contractor will be installing a water line connection on S MacDill Avenue between W Platt Street and W Kennedy Boulevard for the new townhomes being constructed at 214 S New Jersey Avenue.

Northbound and southbound S MacDill Avenue between W Azeele Street and W Kennedy Boulevard, one (1) northbound lane on S MacDill Avenue between W Horatio Street and W Azeele Street and one (1) southbound lane on N MacDill Avenue between North B Street and W Kennedy Boulevard will close at 9 am beginning on April 19, 2021. 

One (1) northbound lane on S MacDill Avenue between W Horatio Street and W Azeele Street and one (1) southbound lane on N MacDill Avenue between North B Street and W Kennedy Boulevard will be maintained at all times during construction, with delays.

Sidewalks within the work area will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times via signage to other sidewalks in the area.

All lanes on S MacDill Avenue between W Swann Avenue and W Kennedy Boulevard and on N MacDill Avenue between W Cypress Street and W Kennedy Boulevard will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, April 30, 2021, weather permitting.

The City recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion. 

Northbound and southbound motorists can use Henderson Boulevard or S Howard Avenue/S Armenia Avenue between W Swann Avenue and W Kennedy Boulevard, in lieu of S MacDill Avenue.

Northbound and southbound trucks can use S Dale Mabry Highway/Henderson Boulevard between W Bay to Bay Boulevard and W Kennedy Boulevard, in lieu of S MacDill Avenue.
