Temporary Road Closure W Bay to Bay Boulevard to begin April 26, 2021 for Utility Construction

A portion of W Bay to Bay Boulevard between Henderson Boulevard and S Manhattan Avenue will close beginning on Monday, April 26, 2021 for utility construction. A City of Tampa contractor will be installing a water main on W Bay to Bay Boulevard between Henderson Boulevard and S Manhattan Avenue as the 1st phase of a 2-phase project. W Bay to Bay Boulevard between Henderson Boulevard and S Manhattan Avenue will close beginning 9 am on April 26, 2021.

Sidewalks in the work area will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area at all times during construction.

All lanes on W Bay to Bay Boulevard between Henderson Boulevard and S Manhattan Avenue will be open to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, April 30, 2021, weather permitting.

The 2nd phase of the project will be milling and paving W Bay to Bay Boulevard between Henderson Boulevard and S Manhattan Avenue for final restoration and is expected to begin in approximately one (1) month.

The entire water project in Sunset Park to the east of S West Shore Boulevard is scheduled to be completed by the end of June 2021, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.

Westbound and eastbound motorists can use Henderson Boulevard between W Bay to Bay Boulevard and S Manhattan Avenue/Henderson Boulevard or use W El Prado Boulevard between S West Shore Boulevard and S Manhattan Avenue, in lieu of W Bay to Bay Boulevard.
