A portion of W Cass Street between W Tyler Street and N Ashley Drive will close Monday, December 28, 2020 for road construction. A private contractor is realigning W Tyler Street and W Cass Street and extending N WC Macinnes Place between W Tyler Street and W Cass Street, as part of the AER development project. The road construction is being completed in phases. Access to the Straz Performing Arts Center drop-off entrance will be available at all times during construction.
Phase 3 is completed. Phase 4 will begin on December 28, 2020. During Phase 4, the contractor will install utilities and curb at the intersection of W Cass Street and N WC Macinnes Place. W Cass Street between W Tyler Street and N Ashley Drive will close at 9 am on Monday, December 28, 2020.
Access to the Straz Performing Arts Center drop-off entrance will be available from W Tyler Street.
All lanes on W Cass Street will reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Friday, January 15, 2021.
The entire project is scheduled to be completed by 4 pm on Friday, January 22, 2021, weather permitting.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
